weathered building

This image was initially intended as a clean image, dirt was added at a later render to give it a weathered feel and to add realism. I have been told it has a ghostly derelict feel to it. I didn't intend to give it this mood, maybe there is too much dirt? Any comments regarding the choice of color, lighting or modeling would be welcomed.

'It's time to fly'

I've named this image 'it's time to fly' because it shows a child robot beginning her first flight. I used Maya to model the character in nurbs and then created a basic rig to pose her. 3ds Max/Vray was used to render the image. The model is part of a beginner modelling tutorial I'm creating in my free time. Any criticism would be most welcomed. thanks
